Getting My Ducks in a Row

The baby countdown is on, and we’re in the homestretch over here! Finishing up all the baby tasks, and I’ve turned my attention to Christmas.

Since we’ve been married, I have always been one to send out our Christmas cards early—I typically order them in October, stuff them in early November, and send them out as soon as it no longer seems inappropriately early to do so (which is usually the day after Thanksgiving).

This year, with baby #4 due on December 11, I had been scratching my head about what to do about our card. Do I send one of the five of us before the baby is born? Do I wait until she comes, hope we can get a decent photo in those early foggy days, and send one out right before Christmas/possibly even after Christmas? Do I send a happy New Year’s card instead? Do I skip it altogether this year?

I had tentatively settled on the last option, and sadly so because I love Christmas cards (and stationery/paper products of all kind) so much.

A new-to-me company, Basic Invite, reached out to me to see if I’d be interested in working with them on a post about their stationery and I jumped at the chance.

Some of their Christmas photo cards that caught my eye (images are linked):

And how cute is this Christmas birth announcement?

I love that the colors, fonts and text can be customized on each card. They also include some other nice features that typically are an added cost on other sites—different paper types, foil, and colored envelopes.

Similar to another vendor I’ve used for years, Basic Invite offers address printing at no cost, which is a huge timesaver and a must-have for me.

They also have some great stationery options—I love these notecards.

If you want to go the early-bird route like me, Basic Invite is offering 30% off all holiday cards right now with the code HOLI30, and 15% off everything else until the end of the month (code 15FF51).
